CITIES AND PROVINCES
Viet Nam has 63 centrally-governed cities and provinces. Its major cities are Hanoi, Ho Chi
Minh City, Hai Phong, Da Nang and Can Tho. There are also many other cities that belong
to provinces.
Hanoi is the capital of the country and where the headquarters of most central agencies are
located, while the most-populous city is Ho Chi Minh City, which is also the country’s largest
and busiest economic hub.
