COVER STORY
Though far from widespread, there are indeed more en-
terprises in Vietnam becoming aware of the benefits to
be had by taking Environmental, Social, and Governance
(ESG) considerations on board. Globally, ESG is finding a
receptive audience as enterprises large and small start
to recognize that such matters can offer a competitive
edge. Locally, concerns surround cost, legal framework,
management and measurement of the task, and overall
confusion about what is specifically involved. There is a
clear worldwide movement, however, towards giving
these issues the attention they deserve, and Vietnam
must follow suit.
