                                                                         While many companies and their employ-
                                                                         ees have parted ways since Covid-19 first
                                                                         menaced the world and Vietnam a year
                                                                         ago, those not let go found new ways to
                                                                         do their old job. Technology came to the
                                                                         fore, allowing some to work from home
                                                                         and even attend online meetings. Others,
                                                                         though, faced a world of pandemic with-
                                                                         out work, and whether they return to the
                                                                         company fold is an open question. As talk
                                                                         of recovery moves towards reality, both
                                                                         employers and employees recognize that
                                                                         in ways both subtle and clear the local
                                                                         labor market has changed, and all in-
                                                                         volved need to reconnect and determine
                                                                         what comes next and who does what.
